Sharmila Ray

EXPERIENCE

Sharmila Ray joined Bain Capital in 2021. She is a Managing Director on the Insurance team.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Sharmila was Head of Carrier Strategy, Solutions, and Go-To-Market at the insurance software solutions firm Vertafore. Previously, Sharmila was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, where she specialized in financial services and focused on property and casualty insurance. Earlier in her career, she held market research roles at Harrigan-Bodick, Inc. and Working Woman Network, Inc.

EDUCATION

Sharmila received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from Wellesley College.
