Michael Smith

EXPERIENCE

Michael Smith joined Bain Capital in 2016. He is a Managing Direction on the Public Equity team. Previously, Michael served as a founding member of our Tech Opportunities team, where he was involved in several early software investments. Earlier in his career at Bain Capital, Michael led coverage of the internet, media, and telecom sectors for the Public Equity team.

Prior to joining Bain Capital, Micheal was a member of the private equity team at Advent International. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant at Bain & Company.

EDUCATION

Michael received an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar. He graduated cum laude from Williams College.
