On Sunday, May 8, a team of six Bain Capital employees participated in Peak24, an endurance relay race to raise awareness and funds to combat slavery and human trafficking in Asia. The race, nick-named "Sore-legs-Sunday", sent runners around Victoria Peak in Hong Kong. Thanks to the generosity of Bain Capital employees, friends and family, Team Bain Capital "Spartacus" raised HK $59,188 or US $7,621, earning them the Highest Fundraising Award. Bain Capital Community Partnership also served as a presenting sponsor at the event.
The funds will be donated to the 24 Hour Race, a Hong Kong-founded international youth charity inspiring students in five countries to join the movement to eradicate modern slavery. Since 2010, the organization has raised more than HK $6,500,000 or US $836,951 to aid victims in India, Nepal and Cambodia. To learn more, visit the Peak24 website.
