On August 1 and 2, a team of 33 Bain Capital employees, joined by 11 friends and family members, biked a combined total of approximately 6,000 miles over two days in the 2015 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) to raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Several thousand riders from around the world joined together to participate in the event, and have committed to helping the PMC reach its goal of raising $45 million in 2015 for The Jimmy Fund, a charity that has supported cancer research at DFCI since 1948. So far, PMC has raised more than $38 million towards that goal.
Team Bain Capital set an ambitious goal to surpass last year’s record fundraising total of $1.97 million by raising $2 million. The team has made great progress, having raised more than $1.3 million to date.
"This was my first Pan-Mass ride and it was a truly memorable experience. The energy of the riders, the volunteers, and all the people cheering for us along the entire route was incredible. It was also amazing how many people went out of their way to come over and specifically thank Bain Capital for being such an amazing supporter of the event – it made me really proud to be a part of our firm and our team. I am excited to ride again next year," said Bain Capital participant Darren Abrahamson.
